Phyllostachys Aurea

Common name: Fishpole or golden bamboo

This is one of the strongest and most useful bamboo species, and is most commonly used for hedges and planting along walkways and driveways. This species can reach a height of 20 feet, but most commonly the height tops at 15-18 feet in the U.S. It also can have a number of distorted lines at the base of the cane, making it a good choice for ornamental uses.
