Semiarundinaria Fastuosa or Temple Bamboo

Semiarundinaria Fastuosa

Common name: Temple bamboo

This is the largest, cold-hardy bamboo that grows in the U.S.’s West Coast that is not Phyllostachys, and grows well in sun or shade. Although the culms start green, they can turn a beautiful burgundy in the fall, and its color changes make it a great living screen or hedge. This plant is also salt-air tolerant.
